Transport

What is Transport?

Transport or Transportation is the movement of people, animals and goods from the one location to another. Transport is THE key necessity to specialization – allowing production and consumption of products to occur at different locations and simultaneously. But is it that simple?

Where did it all start? – Human’s first means of Transport were walking and swimming……

Modes of Transport:

What types of Transport are available? Amongst others we have:

  • Road Transport
  • Rail Transport
  • Water Transport
  • Pipeline Transport
  • Cable Transport
  • Air Transport
  • Space Travel
  • Suborbital Spaceflight – so what is next?

And most modes of Transport is still to a huge extend Animal-Powered – Really? – And in the 21st century??….

Is Air Transport still the fastest way of transport with Commercial Airplanes reaching a top speed of way over 1000km/h – What would have become of us if for example, the first controllable Airplane was not invented in 1903?

Which City Subway is the World’s largest rapid transit system by length of routes and by number of stations?

Can we survive or communicate without Transport?

Why is Transport essential to development and existence of civilizations?  – Transport is important because it enables trade between people, which is essential for the development of civilizations BUT most types cause the loudest noise, the worst air pollution and is a direct result of global warming AS WELL AS use enormous amounts of land destroying vast numbers of habitats – so what are we to do, destroy these??

During our animated and spontaneous Transport Presentation we answer these and many other questions. We share a variety of extremely interesting facts on an age appropriate level regarding all the various modes of Transport, how we can use these, what will happen if we have to be without any of the available modes of Transport, and much more.

Children will explore most importantly how they always apply road safety even if our parents or other adults are not with us and being save in other modes of Transport which we might not utilise every day. We ascertain how many “ways” of Travel we can use without utilising any wheels or impacting the environment, AND of course we have fun with the many fun facts about Transport e.g., do we stop moving once the Boat stops??; What is a velocipedes and is a Drone a Bee??…
