My AMAZING Body

DID YOU KNOW?

  • That most shapes we learn about is represented in the Human Body?
  • Every human has a tennis court in his or her Body. The average surface area of the human lungs is almost equivalent to the surface area of a tennis court.
  • Research suggests that Children tend to grow faster in Spring as compared to any other time of the year
  • You cannot breathe while you eat. However, new-born babies are exceptional. They can eat and breathe simultaneously
  • As well as having unique fingerprints, humans also have unique tongue prints
  • Around 80% of what we think is taste is actually smell
  • Teeth is the only part of your Body that cannot heal itself
  • Sticking your tongue out at people is seen as childish or rude in many countries, however, in Tibet it is considered a greeting!!
  • About 200 muscles are used when we take a single step!
  • The only part of the Body that has no blood supply is the cornea in the eye. It takes in oxygen directly from the air.
  • You will not be able to taste your food if your saliva does not mix with your food

Our Bodies are indeed AMAZING and we commence this age appropriate presentation of this most imperative theme by naming our different Body parts, when and how we utilise each and what will be the impact on our daily lives if we do not have the use of any of our Body parts. It’s not only our external Body parts which we need but also all our internal organs such as our heart, lungs, intestines and of course the part that keep our bodies from collapsing – our skeleton!

We remind each other that our brain can perform more complex functions than the most powerful computer in the world, no robot in the world can move in the way we automatically move our bodies when we play or even sleep, and our 5 (or 6?) senses help us to experience different things about the world around us without us even asking our Body to do so!  Our brains process around 70,000 thoughts each day!!

If we feel ill, our bodies even start a process to heal itself without us telling it to do so!

We expand on this by exploring how the tiniest part of our bodies work together to ensure that we have a healthy Body and can play, sleep and watch TV. Many functions in our Body happen without us even being aware of it, BUT if the tiniest thing go wrong, it can make us seriously ill. Therefore, as much as we need our bodies, IT need us to make the right decisions to keep us healthy.

In a fun way we identify what the right decisions are we need to make to ensure that our bodies stay healthy like eating lost of fruit and vegetables, drinking a lot of water, exercising by playing to keep our muscles strong and even keeping clean to keep our bodies free of germs. AND of course what we should NOT do to our bodies, like eating to much sweets, watching TV in a dark room and not getting enough rest by going to bed to late.

During our animated and spontaneous My AMAZING Body Presentation we endeavour to reiterate the many aspects of our Bodies, internally and externally which makes it SO SO AMAZING and that we have only 1 Body, it has to last a looooong time, and that in taking care of our whole Body EVERY DAY we will have a healthy, fun filled life!!

And most importantly It’s HARD work to frown 34 muscles work to frown and 17 to smileSO SMILE MORE!
