BUSY BEES

Since the earliest times humans have been fascinated by the zealous honeybee and the amazingly sweet product derived from their untiring labour – the golden honey!!  One of the most social insects who has been spoiling us for more than 30 million years with this wonderful product. 

Amongst the three bees living in a nest or hive, die Worker Bee have to work the hardest, and it is no surprise that this bee is Female….  Can you believe that this Honey Bee in her very short live of 40 days only have just over 20 days to produce this precious honey?  She produces roughly a 12th of a teaspoon honey and has many other tasks such as the production of beeswax, collecting water, play undertaker, feeding larvae and much more!
