Our program
fauna, flora &
the earth
The planet Earth is a beautiful place to live in. Life has flourished on the planet, thanks to the bountiful sun and vast oceans of water. No matter where we go on the planet, there are stunning plants, flowers and animals that catch our attention. They are two very important aspects of any eco-system. Of all the living organisms on the planet, the most commonly seen by us are the plant life [FLORA] and the animal life [FAUNA]. Apart from these two, more forms of life abound on the Earth, but are harder to see with the naked eye and we focus on “who and what” Fauna, Flora and the Earth is.
Flora is the name given to the collective plant life that grows or once grew in a certain area or during a given time period. Fauna on the other hand, is the name given to collective animal life that lives or was once found in a certain area or time period.
Most ANIMALS eat plants and use these for shelter, to hide from predators and cannot live without the precious oxygen plants produce.
PLANTS depend on Animals to produce oxygen when they exhale carbon dioxide, for energy and when an Animal dies it provides nutrients for the plants to feed of, and most importantly to pollinate flowers ensuring their survival.
The importance of Fauna and Flora in the oceans cannot be underestimated, many of which are endangered or extinct due to pollution and other of man’s actions. They even protect each other e.g. – the Clownfish and poisonous Sea Anemone ensure each other’s existence.
Neither can exist without each other and collectively they cannot exist without the Earth – EARTH provides a habitat for Fauna and Flora with complex ecological systems that not only provide each with resources to survive, including HUMANS– BUT also make the world a more beautiful place to live in.
Hence, all things in an ecosystem are interdependent and both Fauna and Flora depend on each other for the slightest chance of survival
Understanding that Fauna and Flora and the Earth desperately need each other, we ask the pertinent question – does any of these elements need any other Planets/ Solar bodies to survive??
During our animated and spontaneous Fauna, Flora and The Earth Presentation we answer these and many other questions. We share a variety of extremely interesting facts on an age appropriate level regarding Fauna, Flora and the Earth and how wonderfully it naturally complements each other in a very specific way and doesn’t just co-exist.
Children will explore most importantly how much WE ALL need Fauna, Flora and the Earth, what effect each Child might have on their very existence and survival and just how boring life on Earth would be without these awesome plants and creatures to admire and which also entertains us. We enhance this by exploring how Earth fits into our Solar System, Galaxy and Universe and have huge fun with many fun facts around Fauna, Flora, Earth and other Planets e.g., which is more important, and of course, could we move to another Planet, Solar System or even Galaxy if Earth becomes inhabitable?
