Our program

mammals

meet the mammals

We meet Olina the Elephant to assist to understand more about the unique characteristics of Mammals.  She gladly hugs all who wants to and is continually part of the session and is currently one of the most popular Mammals travelling with the EDUVET KIDS team!

I explore with the learners how Mammals utilise teeth, eyelids, claws, hooves, quills and their skins to protect themselves.  We learn  ore about how ingeniously Mammals can camouflage themselves, for example the Polar Bear who’s fur that adjusts to the colour of the snow, bush piglets who are coloured like the grass to hide while Mom is out hunting and later become black and who can spot the Leopard in the tree??

Are they called the Big Five because they are the five largest Mammals in South Africa – ‘Yeeeeees’ is what most children say… The learners feel and touch different hides of Mammals and examine those closely.

We discuss the three different types of Mammals and the fact that there is indeed one egg lying Mammal – huuh?

We explore who are the enemies of Mammals, and the most important of all, how do we conserve them, also how each child can make a difference to ensure that we will not only be able to view the Big Five in our Parks and the Wilderness!

Enrich your child's life today.
